The role

Spring Milecross is situated in a Community Centre (The Norman Centre) in the heart of a housing estate, it has a large car park and has bus routes into the city, it is on the edge of a ring road, near Norwich Airport (approx. 10 minutes drive to the city centre), there is a park and ride 5 minutes away at the airport.

The nursery opens from 8-6pm for our parents, (all year round) we have 4 rooms and has children from 3months up to school age, we are close to a local school and have good links with them.We have an enclosed garden and also a small garden for our younger children.

We are currently looking for a Nursery Manger to support our experienced staff, who have worked here for a number of years, You will be joining a warm and friendly team of childcare professionals.

The role can be challenging & busy however the rewards are great, to see children and their parents/carers gain confidence is priceless.


You will make a difference by:

-Promoting and establish a working environment which the emotional, physical, social, psychological, physical, developmental and educational well-being of children is paramount.

-Undertaking the Designated Safeguarding Person and Registered Manager role in relation to Ofsted registration.

-Supporting the development of an innovative approach to children's learning and play that is demonstrated by teams working well together within the setting.

-Providing direct and overall management of staff, applying Action for Children policies and procedures. Ensure training and development needs for all staff are audited and provision is made to maximise professional development opportunities and sharing of good practice across the setting.

-Overseeing recording and reporting of planning, observation and progression for all children including a full and thorough assessment of the setting against the EYFS

-Ensuring that all EYFS and Ofsted registration and inspection requirements are met and essential policies such as health and safety, first aid, equal opportunities, safeguarding, data protection and confidentiality are implemented consistently throughout the nursery.


You will need:

-Minimum level 4 qualification in childcare or early years

-Leadership and management qualification

-Experience of working in a senior role within a nursery setting or centre working with children aged 0 to 5 years and their families.

-Leading a staff team, including supervision, work allocation, assessment or training and professional development needs.

-A thorough knowledge and understanding of the EYFS, Ofsted requirements and relevant current legislation.

-Understanding of child protection processes, safeguarding and working with vulnerable children.

-Commitment to inclusive and non-discriminatory working practice with children, families, colleagues and the community.
