Location: BRIMSDOWN

You will be required to work a rotating shift pattern including days and nights.

12 hour shifts - early start from 0530am

Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months.

We are looking for an experienced Operators to join our team based in Brimsdown.

A Chemicals Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining the Chemicals department's processes in a safe manner. The operator will become multi skilled, operating a range of processes including but not limited to: chemical refining of different PGM material streams, producing silver-based customer products, managing process waste & recovering values from waste streams.

Key responsibilities

  • Operators are responsible for ensuring both their own and their colleague's safety, by working in accordance with all relevant Production and Environmental, Health and Safety procedures, promptly reporting any incidents or accidents to their Team Leader

  • Undertake process operations as directed by the Team Leader, in accordance with relevant production procedures and process instructions, focusing on "right first time" production

  • Ensure conformance to customer requirements, specifications and output schedules with respect to total quality in all aspects of the job

  • Movement of metal and material as directed by team leader / manager

  • Responsibility for plant checks and reporting breakdowns or unsafe plant/conditions

  • Responsibility for completion of process related documentation, including batch travellers and spreadsheets.

  • To escalate any issues which may interrupt or slow production, in a timely and accurate manner, to the Team Leader or Production management

  • To report EHS concerns through the ENABLON system and play an active role in identifying EHS improvements

  • To support Continuous Improvement initiatives including 5S, Lean and raising improvement ideas

Are you the ideal candidate?

You will have

Good standard of education including Math's and English GCSE C or equivalent

Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to accurately and carefully follow established procedures for completing work tasks

  • Willing and able to work to tight deadlines to meet production targets

  • Actively participates in a proactive safety culture

  • Strong Health and Safety awareness
