Pay rate up to £15.82 per hour PAYE and up to £10 per hour through an Umbrella company.
An experienced Procurement Support is required to work on a contract assignment for 6-12 months, with the possibility of a further extension supporting our prestigious Defence client based at their site in Stevenage.

The Procurement Team manages spend across a number of areas such as IT, Construction, Facilities Management, HR, Consultancy and Engineering Service. We are looking for someone hungry and passionate to join the team as the focal point for raising orders that come into the team but also to grow into the role and take on other procurement activities such as support on tenders and negotiations with suppliers and working with Internal stakeholders. Liaising with Internal Customers, Bought Ledger and vendors to resolve purchase order and invoice queries and enable timely and accurate payments.
This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone new to procurement or looking to get into a career in procurement who is keen to learn and develop in the role. The right attitude and soft skills are a must.
Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Responsibilities include processing of electronic requisitions into purchase orders
- Purchasing Support/Analysis
- Generation of Request For Quotation (RFQ)
- Raising of purchase orders within iValua (E-procurement tool).
- Progressing of orders to ensure on time delivery to the internal customers
- Invoice Query Administration
- Support the team with additional procurement activities where required
You will have the following skills and experience to carry out your duties:
- Proactive approach flexible self-starter
- IT Literate - Must be able to use Microsoft Office (Word; Power Point; Excel; Outlook) to a proficient level. (A working knowledge of SAP is an advantage.)
- Education: Educated to basic secondary level: (Maths, English to O/A level/GCSE/NVQ as a minimum)
- Ability to effectively communicate and maintain good relations with both internal customers and external suppliers.
- Ability to work under pressure to deadlines in a professional manner
- Experience of working with E-Procurement (Preferably iValua) platforms desirable to raise PO's, create suppliers and conduct risk checks
- Knowledge of the procurement process and cycle (Desirable but not a must)
Due to the nature of the work our client is involved with, suitable candidates will already be SC cleared or eligible to gain this level of clearance.
The role is based in Stevenage which offers excellent transport links, is in close proximity to London Stansted Airport and is commutable from Hitchen, Letchworth Garden City, Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Hertford, Bishop's Stortford, Hoddesdon and Harlow.
