The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for a Production Test Engineer - Electronics to be at the core of the business in Bolton to conclude the production test and diagnostics of complex weapons system and subsystem level.

As a Production Test Engineer - Electronics with previous experience, you will play a vital role in running tests of electronic sub-assemblies of the various tests failures to facilitate efficient throughput of prime equipment hardware during production.

What you'll get to do as a Production Test Engineer - Electronics:

  • Testing complex electronic sub-assemblies, circuit cards and diagnosis production test failures - down to component level.
  • Generation of test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports - based on higher-level requirements.
  • Delivering technical support to test operators
  • Following test failures, identify remedial and corrective actions promptly to allow Manufacturing to continue production in line with the programme.
  • Assessment of interconnected test equipment issues, advising maintenance and support services to resolve equipment defeats.
  • Evaluate technical problems to develop proposals for analyses and subsequent corrective actions, including strategy advancements for manufacturing tests.
  • Test Engineering representative at Defect Review Board discussions to deliver coherent progress of equipment and associated quality notifications towards corrective action.

What we're looking for:

  • An understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement, test principles, and fault diagnosis techniques.
  • Awareness of electrical/electronic system, subsystem integration and test principles.
  • Knowledge of RF and Microwave technology at the subsystem level (advantageous).
  • Ability to plan and organise one's work according to assigned priorities.
  • Communicates both verbally and written effectively, including generating test specifications and reports.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, and precision skills.
  • Experience in operating manual and automated test equipment in an Electronics Manufacturing environment.
  • HNC/HND level of qualifications or equivalent
  • Substantial test engineering experience.
  • Diagnosis of test failures
  • Testing experience down to component level
  • You must be a UK national or citizen to be eligible for the role
