A large, global chemicals organisation based in the North London area is currently looking to recruit an Interim Quantity Surveyor to work in a role with a strong Procurement and Contracts Management focus to work closely with a projects team, supporting the delivery of a major CAPEX programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with Project Management, you will help to plan and execute the procurement of design services, major plant inventory, and construction related services.
  • Appraise various available contract arrangements, recommending the most suitable for each contract type.
  • Create invite to tend documents, request for quotations, and biddings from various suppliers to get best quality service at the best price.
  • Lead tender evaluation, and complete bid report for approval by stakeholders.
  • Manage contract/sub contract admin. Maintain accurate records of contract and commercial documents.
  • Assist in highlighting/reducing contractual risks, and budget development activities.
  • Also work closely with Procurement and Legal departments.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience in a similar role is a must - ideally 10 year's experience or more.
  • Previous working experience in an industrial or construction related environment is essential. Manufacturing or Process Plant experience is ideal.
  • Must have experience of managing construction contracts.
  • Lateral thinker, and good communicator.
  • Proactive, and works well with senior stakeholders to ensure timely completion of activities, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Chemicals or Oil and Gas industries would be an advantage.
