Job Title: Retention Specialist (Spanish)
Pay: $18.59 per hour
Location: 92-31 Union Hall Street, 4th Floor, Jamaica, NY 11433
Work Schedule:
Training Period: On-site for 3-4 weeks, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM ET.
Post-Training: Hybrid schedule (2 days remote per week). Remote days will be assigned by the project director based on program needs.
Job Overview:
The Retention Specialist plays a key role in supporting individuals in maintaining employment and assisting those who have experienced job loss in securing new opportunities. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in customer service or sales, strong communication skills, and fluency in Spanish.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0-2 years of professional experience.
- Fluency in Spanish (Highly Preferred).
- Associate's degree in training, communication, business, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective time management and multitasking skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate workshops on employment skills, including resume writing and interview preparation.
- Identify and match at least 10 participants per month with part-time or full-time employment opportunities (minimum of 20 hours per week and at least NYC's minimum wage).
- Provide individual job coaching and career guidance to participants.
- Conduct outreach and follow-ups to support participants in securing and maintaining employment.
- Track attendance in training sessions and notify case management staff of absences.
- Monitor participant progress and adjust coaching strategies as needed.
- Maintain performance metrics and documentation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
