The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for an experienced RF Digital Waveform Design Engineer to work on a new seeker with a fast-paced programme within a dynamic team to develop high-speed circuits. An essential requirement as an engineer with an expansion of skills in mixed-signal electronic design with a liking of radar systems and a good understanding of programmable devices (FPGAs/CPLDs).

As an RF Digital Waveform Design Engineer, the successful candidate must hold a high degree of confidence and diligence to deliver products to the proper standard within the required timescales.

What we're looking for:

  • Analogue & High-speed Digital Circuit Design and Design, Simulation & Layout using Zuken
  • FPGA/CPLD Circuit Design and Simulation using Xilinx ISE, Vivado, Libero, and others
  • Perform design-proving tests and trials in the laboratory and be able to write high-quality test requirements and test reports.
  • Diagnose hardware problems using various methods, e.g., visual inspection, and signal/data analysis in design.
  • Be conversant with design tools, including Zuken, Orcad, LTSpice, and others.
  • Ideally, degree qualified or equivalent with modules relating to RF or electronics
  • Essential to have some experience with product lifecycles from concept through to production.
  • Desirable to have radar experience with hardware implementation and knowledge of mixed-signal board techniques

What you'll get to do as a RF Digital Waveform Design Engineer:

  1. Instantaneous design and development of analogue & high-speed digital circuits utilised in multimode seeker applications.
  2. Complete development test and integration activities on circuits and sub-assemblies following all applicable processes, standards, and requirements
  3. Assemble and maintain test documentation associated with seeker hardware, including specifications, development test schedules and test result sheets.
  4. Interact with internal customers and suppliers to understand circuit design requirements, volume constraints and environmental specifications.
  5. Manage the transition of development hardware into series production.
  6. Perform technical investigations to provide data for problem assessment, design improvements, and support the development of solutions to technical issues.
