Senior Accounting Technician

Job purpose
⦁ To assist the relevant accountant in providing a range of high quality and cost effective financial management, accounting and financial information services to client department(s) to facilitate the successful management of the clients departments**.**
Accountabilities:
⦁ Provide financial information and advice to departmental staff
⦁ Ensure that the activities of the client department are properly budgeted
⦁ Ensure sound methods of budgetary control are in operation
⦁ Prepare monthly budget monitoring information and forecast outturn
⦁ Ensure that all relevant financial returns/grant claims are completed
Functional competencies:
⦁ Previous relevant experience
⦁ Ability to maintain and report and present information.
Qualifications, training or other requirements:
⦁ AAT qualified would be desirable.
⦁ Competent in the use of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
⦁ Previous use of the SUN system (desirable)
