Urgent Locum Role - Senior Social Worker (Hospital Discharge Team)

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is offering a high-paying, frontline locum opportunity for an experienced Senior Social Worker (Adults) to join its Hospital Social Work Team. Based primarily at Hull Royal Infirmary, you'll also provide support across the North East Lincolnshire Acute Trusts.
This is a busy, high-impact hospital role suited to confident practitioners with strong Care Act and Mental Capacity Act (MCA) experience. You'll be central to delivering safe, timely discharges, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met while protecting adults' rights and wellbeing.
The Role
Carrying out Care Act assessments in line with statutory requirements
Completing Mental Capacity Assessments (MCA) and best interest decisions
Working closely within MDTs across acute hospital settings
Managing complex discharge planning and safeguarding risks
Handling a fast-paced and varied hospital caseload
Maintaining high-quality, compliant case records
What You'll Need
Qualified Social Worker with post-qualified experience at Senior level
Strong background in Care Act and MCA assessments
Hospital or health-based MDT experience
Ability to work independently in a pressured environment
Organised, resilient, and confident decision-maker
Car driver essential
