Bradford Metropolitan Council is recruiting an experienced Senior Social Worker (Children's Services) to join its Children with Disabilities Team (CCHDT - Team 1) on a locum basis.
This is a rewarding frontline role for a confident practitioner with strong statutory children's social work experience, particularly within Children with Disabilities. You'll be working with children and adolescents with complex needs, supporting them and their families to achieve positive, safe, and sustainable outcomes.
Bradford Children and Families Trust operates a hybrid working model. While there is flexibility, you will be expected to attend the office for specific tasks, meetings, and team days in line with service requirements.
The Role
Managing a caseload of children with disabilities and complex needs
Completing statutory assessments, plans, and reviews in line with legislation and guidance
Undertaking safeguarding work and progressing cases through CIN, CP, and CLA pathways where required
Working closely with multi-disciplinary professionals including health, education, and care providers
Supporting children and families with tailored, strength-based interventions
Maintaining accurate, timely, and high-quality case records
What You'll Need
Qualified Social Worker with relevant post-qualified experience at Senior level
Proven experience within Children's Services, ideally Children with Disabilities
Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and best practice
Ability to work confidently both independently and within a team
Organised, resilient, and confident managing complex cases
Strong communication and professional judgement skills
