Bradford Children and Families Trust

Bradford Children and Families Trust is launching a targeted, short-term initiative designed to accelerate permanence planning for children in care. We are recruiting six experienced Senior Social Workers to join a specialist, non-case holding team focused exclusively on progressing permanence plans through high-quality assessments and court work.

This is a rare opportunity to step away from day-to-day case management and make a direct, measurable difference-supporting children to achieve safe, stable, and permanent outcomes without unnecessary delay.

The Role

  • Completing focused permanence work including parenting assessments, Special Guardianship Order (SGO) assessments and support plans, family time assessments, and court documentation

  • Working intensively with up to five families at a time, completing all required work within a 6-week timeframe

  • Collaborating closely with legal services, business support, and Children in Care teams to ensure timely court progression

  • Supporting the discharge of Care Orders through SGOs and reunification, reducing delay and drift for children

  • Producing high-quality, analytical assessments and reports that stand up to legal scrutiny

What You'll Need

  • DIPSW (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England

  • Significant post-qualified experience at Senior Social Worker level within Children's Services

  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes for children and adolescents

  • Strong assessment, analysis, and report-writing skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities across multi-agency settings

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments considered)

Why Locums Choose Bradford

  • Up to £35.00 per hour (umbrella)

  • Non-case holding role with a clear and focused remit

  • 3-month fixed-term contract with immediate impact

  • Hybrid working model offering flexibility

  • Opportunity to contribute to meaningful permanence outcomes for children in care
