Hours: Permanent Part-Time (working 18.5 hours a week)
Salary: £29,500 per annum, pro rata

South Lanarkshire Young Carers Service is a new service being developed in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council to provide support, information and advice to young carers in line with the Local Young Carers Strategy. Working in partnership with education, social work, health and other local voluntary organisations we will provide a range of supports which enable young carers to progress, improve their wellbeing and meet key outcomes.
As a Service Co-ordinator, you will manage and lead a small team (3 people) to provide a wide range of support to young carers and families, which enable positive outcomes to be achieved. This will be done in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. We require the appointed Service Co-ordinator to have flexibility and willingness to work evenings and weekends on an occasional basis. We are open to discussing the flexibility of the days the role requires.

- By being responsible for the delivery and implementation of the service
- By giving young carers support in order to manage their own positive outcomes
- By managing a delegated Budget
- By being an integral part of the South Lanarkshire community to influence involvement for desired service outcomes
- By linking with colleagues in North Lanarkshire to contribute to pan Lanarkshire plans where appropriate
What you'll need:
- SVQ4/HNC or equivalent in youth work, working with families, childcare or another relevant field
- Experience of working with Young Carers and understanding the impact they face
- Experience of managing and leading a team
- Advanced experience of chairing, supporting and contributing to service planning meetings
- Experience of the development and practice of community working, including influencing involvement
- Ability to lead and develop service implementation plan
- Working in collaboration to achieve change within your immediate team and wider multi agency partnerships
- Experience of collating and producing reports, capturing and progressing the relevant information for a desired outcome.
- Competent user of Microsoft office packages
- Travel in the community for this role is essential so use of your own transport is desirable
