Sessional Ben Club Playworker

Location: RAF Wittering, Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Salary: £19,872 per annum, Pro-Rata

Hours: Permanent Part-Time, 2 hours a week

Structure: Every Monday afternoon (during term times)

What do we do?

Action for Children does what's right, does what's needed and does what works for children across the UK. Every year, our team changes the lives of 301,000 children, young people and their families - but for every child who needs help to get help, there's plenty more to do. That's where you come in.

What does the service do?

Action for Children delivers the Benevolent Fund, Airplay Youth Support and Ben Club play sessions in partnership with the Royal Air Force, across 23 stations.

Ben Club at RAF Wittering delivers play sessions to children aged 5 to 7 years.

So what will you do?

As a Sessional Ben Club Playworker, you'll liaise with other care agencies and care professionals to directly support children, young people and their families, agreeing and providing specialised intervention services in line with our business plan.

You'll significantly improve young people's lives:

  • By providing great play activities for children from RAF Wittering
  • By using your imagination and creativity to engage with children
  • By being part of a well-loved programme across the entire organisation
  • By supporting service families

What will you require?

  • The ability to relate to and inspire children aged 5 to 7
  • Willingness to take part, get involved and have fun
  • Dedication to the session schedules
  • Some experience of working with this age group
  • Firm commitment to the development & safeguarding of children
  • Ability to travel to and from the service location
