Our client, a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, seeks an experienced shipping officer. The ideal candidate should have domestic and international shipping experience and be familiar with road and air transportation. As a shipping officer, your tasks will include preparing export documentation and understanding incoterms, tariffs, and CPC codes. You'll collaborate closely with our client's in-house export control team, customs department, and freight forwarders.

As a shipping officer, you'll oversee all exports from the site to meet customer demands worldwide by air or road. Adhere to their processes for a benchmark service.

What you'll get to do as a Shipping Officer:

The ideal candidate for this job will be responsible for ensuring timely product delivery that aligns with project demands. This involves managing export-related documentation, transportation, and compliance with export licenses and transport legislation. They will also identify and implement process improvements, maintain current knowledge of site movements, ensure administrative duties are completed for each shipment, and keep up to date with archiving and scanning. The candidate will be required to undertake Known Consignor training to promote functional excellence and remain compliant with the controls put in place. Collaboration with the export control team, customs officers, and freight forwarders will be necessary to ensure compliance and provide a benchmark export and shipping service.
