Description of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the Airbus UK Manufacturing Engineering team located within the Aircraft Systems Test Group in Broughton. The role involves supporting the testing of the aircraft through the manufacturing process. The successful candidate will report into the ASTG Process Manager and carryout the Calibration and Manufacture of Test Equipment.

Tasks

- Dealing with queries that are of an Mechanical bias that are raised by CDT Operations and finding a solution on the aircraft in conjunction with Manufacturing Engineering.

- Calibration of Test Equipment for all programmes.

- Maintenance of Test Equipment for all programmes.

- Repair of Test Equipment for all programmes.

- Manufacture of Test Equipment / Consumables

- Working in TCMI & SAP Plant Maintenance.

- Working across all aircraft programmes (A320, A330, A350).

Skills

This role gives excellent exposure to all the functions working in Aircraft Systems Test with specific emphasis on systems and the unique challenges faced within the test phase of the manufacturing process. It requires someone with energy, persistence, and initiative that are capable of operating in a dynamic environment where high levels of reactivity & flexibility are considered essential. Providing Line side operations support and involvement in the development projects from the Manufacturing team.

Further Skills

- Interpretation & understanding of engineering drawings.

- Multiple airbus aircraft programmes experience desirable.

- PUWER - experience knowledge desirable but not essential.

- Health and Safety - Risk assessments experience and knowledge desirable but not essential.

- SAP Plant Maintenance, experience desirable but not essential.

- TCMI, experience desirable but not essential.

- Knowledge of Electrical Circuits and Harness Manufacture - Desirable

- Knowledge of aircraft Electrical systems installation & test.

- Experience of Quality Assurance / Quality Management Systems.

- Working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering processes & procedures.

- Familiar with SQCDP principles.

Shifts

  • The role will start on Double Days shift pattern which is:
    • Monday to Friday 6am-1.10pm
    • Monday to Friday 1.30pm-8.40pm
    • Rotating weekly
  • From August 2023 the role will be on Night shift which is:
    • Monday to Thursday 8.45pm-6am
