Software Engineer C/C++ and Java
Opportunity for contract extension or to be made permanent
£48.72/hourly PAYE; up to £65/hourly Umbrella rate
37 hours; FT (Onsite)
The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to develop and deliver innovative solutions by exploiting a broad portfolio of software technologies. You will work as part of a small team and be empowered to work individually with little supervision at the site in Bristol.
What we're looking for:
- Expertise in Web services applications and legacy techniques such as CORBA and X-motif.
- Practical hands-on experience in a team-based development organisation rather than as an individual developer and working in system configuration and hardware and software installation.
- Advanced Information security experience, including methods of locking down operating systems and deployment in a Windows and Linux environment.
- IDEs used include Eclipse and NetBeans for legacy applications.
- Tools: DOORS, Rhapsody, and the Rational Team Concert configuration management system.
- Knowledge of using Jenkins in an automated build and test environment would be helpful.
- Understanding existing complex mathematical SW algorithms and being able to reliability and accurately introduce modifications would be ideal.

What you'll get to do as a Software Engineer C/C++ and Java:
- Experienced Software Engineer capable of designing, developing, and testing software-based Defence applications.
- The development languages will be C/C++ and Java.
- The Target Operating systems are Windows and Linux and are typically client-server applications.
- Background experience in Mission Planning Systems and Geographical Information Systems would be ideal but is not essential.
- The primary emphasis of this role is SW development.
- Occasional travel
