Role Overview

As a Supply Chain and Quality Manager you will work within the team led by the Lead Supply Chain and Quality Manager and report directly to the Head of POELA. You will be accountable for a portfolio of New Products Introductions related to Landing Gear and Fuel Systems suppliers who supply equipment to multiple Airbus civil aircraft programmes. You will form a strong network within the PO community and across a multi-functional working environment. This is a challenging role and is crucial in supporting Airbus Operations to achieve on-time and on-quality aircraft deliveries.

This challenging role is responsible for assuring Industrial and Supply readiness on all new programmes and major modifications under the responsibility of POEL. POEL is accountable for the Industrial Supply Chain across all Fuel, Inerting, Landing Gear and Landing Gear System Suppliers.

Business objectives are focused on ensuring all Suppliers are capable of delivering a mature design at entry into service via a robust industrial and supply system. The primary purpose of these objectives is to ensure that supply chain quality, capability and capacity are at the highest level of control to meet Airbus business and customer expectations before entry into service.

Responsibilities

  • Supplier Selection
    • Industrial capability assessments
    • Supplier performance analysis
    • Initial Supplier capacity assessments
    • Industrial performance analysis
    • Liaising with Airbus fit sites to assure level of service expectations are met
  • Supplier Industrial Readiness
    • Working with design teams (Airbus + Supplier) to identify critical design features impacting manufacturability and Industrialization
    • Assuring application of APQP process with support of Supply Chain Quality Specialists
    • Implemented as part of APQP techniques such as DFMEA - PFMEA methodology
    • Working with Supplier to identify Key Characteristics required as output of Industrial processes and for process control
    • Working with Suppliers to apply ASR ○ Working with suppliers to ensure condition of supply conforms with Airbus requirements
    • Working with Supplier to assure Industrial capacity meets ramp up
    • Working with Suppliers to ensure all logistic conditions are met
    • Working with Supplier to reduce nonconformance via concession and Quality escape eradication
  • Supplier Risk Management & Surveillance - carry out the following actions with assigned suppliers to meet requirements of EN9100, EASA21G - Completion of Desktop Surveillance Process
    • Auditing (QMS, Product, Process, GRESS-IPCA)
    • Support and maintain supplier Risk Register, Capacity Contingency Process (CCP) & Transfer of Work processes
  • Industrially mature processes delivering conforming product before entry into service
  • Mature Suppliers ready for transition to POEL Operations teams management
