The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for an experienced Sustainable Procurement - Social Value Co-ordinator to focus on all Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) aspects of MBDA UK's supply chain and play a pivotal role in the delivery of its sustainability programme at the site in Stevenage.

As a Sustainable Procurement - Social Value Co-ordinator, the role holder will support designing MBDA UK's future sustainable strategic sourcing strategy and embedding it within the function and broader business. The role holder will represent Procurement on group sustainability & ESG forums. In addition, the role holder will support the development of processes to support the function's drive for continuous improvement in this pivotal area of change and ensure compliance with the UK MOD Procurement Policy legislation from a supply chain perspective.

What you'll get to do as a Sustainable Procurement - Social Value Co-ordinator:

  • Develop, implement, and execute the UK Procurement Sustainability & ESG strategy in alignment with MBDA's overall ESG strategy and the UK Customers Procurement Policy legislation.
  • Drive the development of sustainability objectives for inclusion in scorecards as part of supplier selection using metrics and targets based on market best practices.
  • Develop and embed skills, policies and processes which leverage MBDA UK's position and balance cost and sustainability benefits.
  • Input into MBDA UK's CDP and Annual Report disclosures from a supply chain perspective.
  • Collaborate with and provide training to the Procurement team to drive a step-change in evaluating suppliers and negotiating contracts in line with MBDA's Sustainability & ESG strategy.
  • Work with the Procurement team and key stakeholders to improve sustainability & ESG in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management.
  • Work as part of a cohesive team providing leadership that engages all colleagues, role modelling the MBDA Values, and establishing a coalition with sustainability and continuous improvement as critical deliverables.
  • Provide Senior Stakeholder management with regards to Supply Chain with our UK MOD and Industry leaders

The Role holder will support the positive delivery against the following KPI's:

  • PPN 06/20 and 06/21 compliance from a supply chain perspective
  • Social Value project initiatives providing year on year benefit to the Company and its Stakeholders
  • UK Customer Satisfaction
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction demonstrated through targeted surveys
  • Positive KPI results against the Social Value Model Assessment Criteria (MAC)
  • Compliance with National ESG Legislation
  • Positive Indicators demonstrating the supply chain community have the environmental and societal behaviours

  • Knowledge of UK Government Policies on Sustainability, particularly around PPN 06/20 and PPN 06/21 preferred but not essential.
  • You must be a UK national or citizen to be eligible for the role.
