Guidant Global is working with the UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, who needs a skilled Systems Design Engineer (L4) to perform on a project developing, building, and testing real hardware for an essential missile sub-system in Stevenage.

As a Systems Design Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the architecture's design and developing the technical requirements for a seeker.

What you'll get to do as a Systems Design Engineer (L4):

  • Development and maintenance of the requirement set using an iterative Model-Based Systems Engineering Approach, including application requirements in DOORS, Telemetry output definitions and Functional Interface Definitions
  • Coordination of the multiple software points of an embodiment for the missile through the functional strands (on behalf of the operational stands manager)
  • Status reporting to the Brimstone leadership team
  • Support for hardware trials and qualification planning
  • Sub-system compliance review and proving strategies
  • Requirement maintenance (for all project owned requirement specifications)
  • Supporting non-compliance assessment and handling

What we're looking for:

  • Competent Systems Engineering practitioner, ideally with experience across the Systems Engineering lifecycle.
  • Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering / SysML and use of Systems Engineering Tools such as IBM DOORS and Rhapsody is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Use Case analysis and Requirement's specification
  • Planning and estimating skills are paramount.
  • Systems engineering experience (understanding of systems engineering practices and processes such as the 'V' model, product lifecycles, systems definition, and V&V)
  • Demonstrate your experience in the process of managing verification evidence and the co-ordination of inputs to complete the certification of defence equipment
  • Knowledge of DOORS and PLM
  • Have a willingness to learn about the project, tools, and methods
  • You must be a UK national or citizen and resided in the U.K. for at least five years to be eligible for the role (SC clearance requirement)
