The UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, are looking for a Systems Engineer to join the diverse Systems department at MBDA Missile Systems in Bristol.
As a Systems Engineer with previous experience, you will play a vital role in focusing on tasks to support developing technologies. In addition, communicating is essential to ensuring that the stakeholders correctly understand the proposed options.
What you'll get to do as a Systems Engineer:
- Model-Based Systems Engineer
- System Design activities in support of the SPEAR3 F-35 Launcher Firing Unit functional development, including:
- Architectural Design
- Interface specification
- Sub-system Requirements Specification
The successful Systems Engineer will have the following skills and experience to carry out the duties assigned to the role:
- Systems engineering life cycle from requirements capture/approval through to proving, planning and Certification
- Software requirements specification
- Agile systems/software development
- Safety-related systems/software development
- Air-launched systems using MIL-STD-1760 / UAI
- Safety-related systems
Tools/Languages:
Rhapsody or similar, DOORS, sysML/UML are all essential for this position.
What we're looking for:
Appreciate the Systems Engineering lifecycle and processes, including requirement elicitation and interface definition, identifying, and managing key design drivers, modification development and formal verification and certification processes.
- Experience in Systems integration (mechanical/electrical/software) would be beneficial.
- An ability to produce concise, coherent, and detailed technical reports of high quality.
- An ability to work proactively and flexibly across several variant programmes for which relative priorities can change quickly.
- An effective team player with strong interpersonal and influencing skills, essential to working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and in building cohesion in the relationships between the Systems team and various interfacing teams.
- An awareness of RTC & DOORS would be beneficial.
- You must be a UK national or citizen to be eligible for the role.
