Guidant Global is working with the UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, who seeks a skilled Systems Modelling Engineer to perform at the in-house synthetic image generation model for seeker RF imagery. Essentially this deploys high fidelity RF ray tracing of complex CAD scenes and post-processing high volume data using radar processing techniques in Stevenage.

As a Systems Modelling Engineer, you'll simulate the capability which provides synthetic data to multiple vital missile programmes across the organisation.

What we're looking for:

Essential Tools:

  • MATLAB
  • Simulink
  • RTC

Skills:

  • Radio Frequency (RF) / Electro Optic (EO) / Infra-Red (IR) in relation to Radar Systems experience (Highly Essential)
  • Experience with CAD manipulation (Highly Essential)
  • Data analysis, technical report writing and Model delivery experience
  • Ability to work as part of a fast-paced team
  • Ideally worked in Defence and Aerospace

What you'll get to do as a Systems Modelling Engineer:

The work is heavily rooted in MATLAB and SIMULINK, focusing on validation, and testing of the existing code base and generating innovative functionality to push the boundaries of the capability with more complex seekers and scenes. A willingness to learn and think outside the box for complex problems is essential for working in the seeker RF simulation team.

The growing team is very flexible when it comes to new ideas and making changes that improve the way we work and the techniques we deploy. The team spans multiple projects, which brings the opportunity for diverse, interesting work engaging and challenging. Due to the sensitive nature of the work, it is predominantly done onsite.

This role is based at MBDA's headquarters in Stevenage which plays a key part in missiles operations. The site also offers excellent transportation links and boasts an onsite gym and coffee shop. Training and development are offered to all employees.
