Purpose of the role
Leading a newly formed combined Payroll and HR transactions team, you will ensure the delivery of an efficient, effective and accurate HR & Payroll service using the newly implemented technology.
Key requirements
In addition to leadership, highly developed communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills the ideal candidate will:-
- Hold a degree in a relevant discipline plus full membership of the CIPP (or equivalent) and substantial experience of working in a HR/Payroll environment with exceptional numeracy skills to carry out complex calculations.
- Must demonstrate the ability to lead, manage and develop a team.
- Have significant experience with expert knowledge of payroll (Tax, NI) and HR legislation with a thorough understanding of HR/Payroll policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment pertaining to the varied workforce of the Council and Traded Services clients.
- Have substantial experience of operating a complex integrated HR and Payroll system with advanced IT skills and experience of Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrate the ability to develop, implement and monitor systems and processes to support the delivery of an effective and efficient service, with the ability to positively adapt to change.
