Technical Author

Location: Gloucestershire
Working Pattern: 5 days a week, on site
Contract Length: 12 months

About the Role

Guidant Global is supporting our client in hiring an experienced Technical Author to produce, maintain and deliver high‑quality technical documentation for a range of complex products and internal systems.
These roles are ideal for detail‑driven technical writers who enjoy working collaboratively with engineers, product teams and subject‑matter experts to create documentation that is clear, accurate and compliant with organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain existing documentation, ensuring accuracy, relevance and compliance with company standards
• Create new design and build documents, technical specifications, user manuals and other supporting documentation
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to develop test plans and additional technical content
• Engage with subject‑matter experts to gather accurate information and ensure documentation integrity
• Produce diagrams and illustrations using corporate drawing packages such as Visio and CorelDRAW
• Use Adobe Acrobat to create, edit and manage PDF documentation
• Ensure consistency across all documents in format, style and quality
• Develop a thorough understanding of company products and technologies to support accurate documentation creation

Skills & Experience

Essential:

• Proven experience as a Technical Author/Technical Writer
• Ability to produce clear, concise and technically accurate documentation
• Strong collaboration skills, working confidently with technical and non‑technical teams
• Experience using Visio, CorelDRAW and Adobe Acrobat
  
  

Desirable:

• Familiarity with engineering, technical or software product environments
• Experience documenting complex technical architectures, workflows or test materials
