MBDA, the trusted Ministry of Defence partner in the UK, is seeking a skilled Test Architect to play a vital role in defining and managing the requirements for Test Equipment and Test Specifications. This position is based at our Stevenage site.

What we're looking for:

  • Ideally educated to degree level with substantial experience in Test, Electrical, and electronic engineering.

Experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Digital electronics and microprocessor systems.
  • Analogue electronics; Power Electronics.
  • Test Equipment Design.
  • DOORS (Essential)

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of Project Management, planning, cost, and budget control.
  • Ability to manage diverse and conflicting stakeholders effectively.
  • Capability to technically manage internal and sub-contract activities.
  • Strong influencing skills with managers and stakeholders across the company.
  • Determination and desire to succeed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).

What you'll get to do as a Test Architect:

  • Take responsibility for managing Test Equipment requirements and design trades, considering factors such as Cost, Scope, and Time.
  • Lead the development of Test Equipment (hardware and software) to meet project requirements.
  • Support comprehensive projects focused on managing Test System obsolescence and optimizing upgrade programs.
  • Interface with customers and effectively manage their expectations throughout the development process.
  • Technically manage internal and external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of Test Equipment packages meeting quality and performance requirements.
  • Capture, develop, and manage Test Equipment requirements from all customers (Internal, Domestic, and Export) across the Product Life Cycle.
