Our client, a leading player in the missile and defence industry and a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence is searching for a skilled Test Equipment Manager. This managerial position requires the oversight of the internal design team's delivery of TE. As the primary liaison between the project and the designers, the manager will closely monitor the progress and promptly report any issues.
What we're looking for:
Preferably, the candidate should have a degree and significant expertise in either test, electrical, or electronic engineering, with experience in at least one of the following areas:
- Digital electronics and microprocessor systems
- Analogue electronics
- Electronics testing, or test equipment design.
Strong understanding of the following:
- Capturing requirements effectively.
- Managing and planning projects.
- Handling stakeholders with care.
Additional Attributes:
- Skill to influence individuals from different departments within the organisation.
- Persistence and drive to achieve goals.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to travel as needed.
What you'll get to do as a Test Equipment Manager:
- Operate the project test equipment strategy, including the commonality approach, TE quantities and TE use cases.
- Manage the definition of the TE Technical Requirements, soliciting requirements from all stakeholders and managing any conflicting requirements,
- Proposing and recommending to the Chief Design Engineer test trade-offs (coverage vs cost etc.).
- Responsible for the TE Statement of Work, TE Design trades and ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery of the TE.
- Manage the integration of the TE with the facilities, plan for upgrades and obsolescence, and consistently enhance the TE.
