Our client is a trusted partner of the UK's Ministry of Defence, and they are currently looking for an experienced Test Equipment Manager. The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee the delivery of test equipment from the internal design team. As the critical point of contact between the project and the designers, the manager will closely monitor the progress and report any issues that may arise. This is an excellent opportunity for a contract extension and possibly becoming a full-time employee on a flexible work schedule.

What we're looking for:

Preferably, the candidate should have a degree and significant expertise in either test, electrical, or electronic engineering, with experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Digital electronics and microprocessor systems
  • Analogue electronics
  • Electronics testing, or test equipment design.

Strong understanding of the following:

  • Capturing requirements effectively.
  • Managing and planning projects.
  • Handling stakeholders with care.

Additional Attributes:

  • Skill to influence individuals from different departments within the organisation.
  • Persistence and drive to achieve goals.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed.

What you'll get to do as a Test Equipment Manager:

We are looking for a skilled individual who can oversee the project test equipment strategy, ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of test equipment, and manage technical requirements while soliciting input from all stakeholders. This role will require making trade-off recommendations and managing conflicting requirements. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for integrating and enhancing the test equipment with facilities, planning for upgrades and obsolescence, and ensuring quality delivery.
