The role of Test Manager is to coordinate and manage planning of the system and/or acceptance tests, including software security testing, within the project. You'll take responsibility for integrity of testing and acceptance activities and coordinates the execution of these activities.
Provide authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution. Define and communicate the test strategy for the project. Manage all test processes, including test plans, resources, costs, timescales, test deliverables and traceability.
Manage client relationships with respect to testing matters. Identify process improvements and contribute to corporate testing standards and definition of best practice.
Test Strategy:
The Test manager will be required to develop and implement a test strategy to accommodate the project - Both on and off site
Test Strategy will include;
Test plans: including
- Test approach: including:
- Objectives and scope
- Phases of testing including
- Non-functional, functional
- System integration (SIT)
- Regression, performance (manual), security (ITHC), resilience, and recovery (backup)
- User acceptance and operational acceptance (UAT / OAT)
- Scheduling
- Entry/exit criteria & Pass/fail criteria
- Traceability - how this will be achieved can be discussed
- Automation - to be confirmed
- Environments - Low side and High side
- User resourcing - Identify when KICC or LIO teams are required
- Introduction of Test Data - Plan & Execute
- Tools - Determine tools required
- Tools - Deployment and script building
- Management process and procedures: including;
- Defect management (JIRA)
- Roles and responsibilities with test team (to include wider circle)
- Risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID)
- Results and reporting at each gate - SIT / ITHC / UAT / OAT
