Role Overview
We have a new vacancy for a Control Systems & Data Acquisition Engineer working with the
Structures Test Team based in the Aerospace Integrated Research and Test Centre (AIRTeC) at Airbus. This role is based on site in Filton, Bristol. The team is responsible for testing the structural technologies for the Wing of Tomorrow programme, Zero Emissions aircraft and for support of all current aircraft programmes.
Responsibilities
- Delivery of technical specialisms in industrial control systems and/or test data acquisition; often a healthy mix of hands-on lab and office based work
- Assistance when required to deliver structural tests
- Support for innovation, sustainability, and improvement projects
- Communication and reporting of progress to the test leader/test customers
- Coordination of all internal and external contributors/stakeholders/suppliers
- Anticipation, identification, and management of risks & opportunities
- Participation in the test centre SQCDP and weekly team meetings
- Support the development of training methodology and material
Skill Set
Essential
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent proven experience) in control systems engineering or a related discipline (e.g., Aerospace, Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, Physics)
- 5+ years of experience in:
- Delivery of projects to time, cost, quality
- One of the following disciplines: Instrumentation, control systems, data acquisition, hydraulic control
- Pioneering spirit, open to new ideas/innovation
- Good communication skills, multifunctional work and customer focussed
- Team worker
- Proven ability to deliver
- MS Office and G Suite
- English: Negotiation level
Desirable
- Experience in structures, materials or systems testing would be an advantage
- Experience in managing suppliers or participating in supplier selection would be an advantage
