Toolmaker/Metrologist
Guidant Global has an excellent opportunity for a Toolmaker seeking a 12-month contract in Broughton, near Chester. We are helping a manufacturing business find a Toolmaker/Metrologist, and the role comes with an hourly rate of £18.02 (PAYE).
As a flexible Toolmaker/Metrologist, you will support production areas within the company's wing box assembly plant.
Within this role you can expect to:
- Reactively maintain tooling to keep production enabled
- Proactively maintain critical path tooling and specific features of the jigs to enable production to deliver the build cycle using predefined schedules
- Work with the Metrology team utilsing Laser Trackers and CMM instruments to check and certify varying types of tooling across the Broughton Plant.
- Support measurements for AC concession data and acceptance check.
To be enabled for this role, you will need to have completed a toolmaking, fitter machinist or machining apprenticeship qualified to NVQ Level 3 or above.
You will also require the following:
- Minimum 3 years post apprenticeship experience
- Familiarity with tool room machines such as lathes, millers, various grinding machines and jig borers
- Familiarity with Laser Tracker and CMM instruments would be beneficial.
- The collaborative and inclusive skills to work within a team and follow any appropriate documentation accordingly
