The role

1 in 10 children in every classroom suffer from a diagnosable mental health disorder. The Blues is an evidenced based CBT influenced programme to support the reduction of depression in young people using an early intervention model.

The Blues programme is a vital part of our work. We are looking for a motivated Young Person Practitioner who is committed to supporting young people's mental health and supporting this service in Glasgow and South Lanarkshire. You will be part of a national programme across Action for Children's four nations. You will be based in our Glasgow office (G51 2JR) with regular travel to schools within Glasgow and South Lanarkshire.

This post is a fixed term 1 year contract Monday to Friday. Some start times will be 8am.

How you'll make a difference:

- Being part of a team of practitioners to deliver the Blues programme.

- Delivering group work to around 500 young people a year within a team.

- Giving young people skills in order to manage their own emotional wellbeing.

- Working in partnership with schools and colleges.

What you'll need:

- SVQ Level 3 (or SVQ Level 2 and working towards level 3) or HNC in discipline relating to Children and Young People e.g. Health and Social Care or Mental Health.

- Experience of delivering evidenced based programmes.

- Involvement of working with young people aged 15-18.

- A commitment to supporting young people's mental health.

- Access to a vehicle for travel.
