Hertfordshire County Council require a Youth Justice Social Worker
£28 per hr Ltd/umbrella
The manager is happy to interview by video link depending on what system candidates have access to, they use Microsoft Teams or can call via mobile.
With regard to starting this will be discussed with potential candidates as the situation of how, when and where people work is under review.
The role is to supervise young people in the community subject to court Orders, work with young people in custody and on licence. Primarily they will be working with 16-18 year olds.
The role also requires experience of working within youth court and on occasion crown court, preparation of courts reports, RO panel reports and breach reports.
The post holder will be expected to be familiar with a youth justice data base such as Childview, careworks or similar and be computer literate.
A driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential and expenses will be paid for travel other than from home to work and back. The post will be based in Hatfield or Hemel Hempstead although the role can require attending other venues across county.
The team are anticipating they can open the office in Hatfield soon and be able to manage social distancing. At present most of their clients are being supervised by phone or video call although they expect this to gradually change to face to face where safe and suitable.
