This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of wing manufacturing, helping operational teams embed Lean principles, improve daily routines, and drive meaningful, lasting change.
If you enjoy coaching others, simplifying processes, and supporting teams to achieve "right first time" excellence, this role could be a great fit-especially if you're local to Broughton or have experience in process‑driven environments.
What you'll be doing
As part of the Airbus Operating System (AOS) team, you'll work closely with production managers and operational teams to strengthen performance and embed Lean ways of working. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting & Coaching Teams
- Implementing and improving daily management boards and routines.
- Delivering training and awareness sessions on AOS principles.
- Coaching frontline managers, technicians, and operators in AOS bricks and MES usage.
- Helping teams understand and adopt change through clear, structured tutoring.
Driving Continuous Improvement
- Launching and participating in 'Go‑Look‑See' shop floor reviews and offering constructive feedback.
- Co‑facilitating AOS and improvement workshops across the site.
- Sharing best practice with other AOS Agents to build consistent standards.
Measuring & Reporting Progress
- Assessing AOS maturity using KPIs, activity tracking, and structured self‑assessments.
- Supporting operational teams to develop AOS/MES roadmaps and Tactical Implementation Plans (TIP).
- Identifying deviations from standards and recommending simple, effective improvements.
What you'll bring
We're open to candidates from various backgrounds-particularly those with strong process understanding and a passion for operational excellence.
Essential skills:
- Good understanding of AOS, Lean, or Operational Excellence principles.
- Awareness of Lean/Six Sigma tools and methods.
- Confidence tutoring and coaching teams at all levels.
- Ability to identify gaps in routines or standards and communicate findings clearly.
- Basic understanding of change management and the ability to adapt your approach.
Nice to have:
- Experience in a process‑driven or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with MES tools or similar systems.
- Exposure to problem‑solving methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, root cause analysis).
Why join this project?
- Influence real change in a major aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Supportive team culture where knowledge sharing and collaboration are valued.
- Opportunities to grow, with exposure to Lean, coaching, and operational excellence at scale.
- A role with meaningful impact-helping teams to work safer, smarter, and more efficiently.
