Sycamore House is a residential home that opened in April 2018, so the opportunity to really make a difference and join a fun and enthusiastic team is ready for the taking! We're also more than just a young person's short break, we really are the young person's home who live here 24/7. Sycamore House is a fantastic purpose built 4 bedroom bungalow and we have a sensory room, kitchen and living room which are all accessible for the children who live here.
Your role:
As the Assistant Residential Worker, you will be providing residential care for children and young people aged 5-17 years with a learning disability, physical disability, autism and/or health needs.
You will help create a homely environment which nurtures, supports and helps develop young people to reach their full potential. This will also include being part of designing a programme to ensure the young people have fun whilst developing their independence. You will be working mainly after school and weekends, working on a shift pattern set by the line manager.
You will help by providing personal care and administering medication and ensuring that all relevant paperwork is of a high standard including behaviour support plans, risk assessments and daily contact sheets. We will offer support and full training to successful candidates.

What you'll need:
- Previous experience working with young people / children (preferably with disabilities)
- A relevant qualification in Residential Care, Health and Social Care or similar is desirable and you will need to be prepared to complete a Level 3 qualification within two years.
- A vision to develop and promote the home to ensure its success.
- Knowledge of safeguarding.
- I.T skills and ability to use Microsoft packages.
- Willing to work on a shift pattern including weekends.
- A full driving licence and own vehicle (desirable but not essential)
