The Vines is a short break residential service for children and young people aged between 11 and 19 with severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. We strive and work towards providing top tiered person - centered care. We also hold various activities on a day to day basis to encourage social experiences and promote equality and diversity throughout the service. In addition to using our own facilities and grounds we support children and young people to access activities within local community settings.

As an Assistant Residential Worker, it will be your responsibility to liaise with the children, young people and their families to ensure that their care is always to the best possible standard. You will also be supporting them with all aspects of their care.

You will be working on a rolling rota which will consist of earlies (7am to 3pm), lates (2pm to 10pm) and alternate weekends.

  • By supporting children and young people in their personal care, administration of medication and procedures in line with the services policies and procedures.
  • By providing a safe and fun environment to achieve positive outcomes.

  • By building excellent rapports with Service Users, their families and other care professionals.
  • By updating care plans and risk assessments.

What will you need?

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or the willingness to work towards one.
  • Previous experience working in care is desirable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Positive and compassionate attitude is a MUST
  • IT literate
  • Resilience
