Hours: Permanent, Part-Time (working 25 hours a week on a 24/7 shift rota basis
Salary: Circa £17,000 per annum, pro rata

Our Vale of Glamorgan Short Breaks Project in Ty Robin Goch provides residential short breaks and community outreach services for the most vulnerable disabled children and young people aged from 6 to 18 years in the Vale of Glamorgan.
How will you make a difference?
- As an Assistant Residential Worker you will support the service we provide to children and young people by:
- Undertaking sessional work with young people out in the community (leisure activities, park visits, shopping trips etc.) and transporting them to these locations.
- Supporting young people and families in their home environment.
- Supporting young people in Ty Robin on their overnight stays.
- Taking responsibility for the personal care and routines of the young people
- Supporting young people to achieve positive outcomes
- Being responsible for the safeguarding of young people
What will you need?
- Experience of working with children or young people (experience working with children with disabilities would be an advantage)
- Level 3 QCF Working with Children and Young People or be willing to work towards this
- You'll need to be a driver and have access to your own car. The role requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
- A positive and confident approach to engaging with children and young people
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A flexible approach to working hours (service open seven days a week)
- A good standard of written English and the ability to make accurate notes for record-keeping purposes
- Registration or willingness to register with Social Care Wales
