Salary: c £18,400 per annum, pro rata (£9.53 per hour)

Warwickshire Disability is a registered Children's Home offering residential overnight short breaks for children and young people aged between 6 and 18 with severe learning disabilities and complex needs. Our extremely dedicated and professional staff teamwork in a sensitive and caring way to support disabled children to remain living with their families.
We offer a homely welcoming environment, which makes children feel safe and where they can have fun enjoying different activities. Our aim is to provide positive, life enhancing experiences, and the staff team are committed to putting children at the heart of everything we do. They also develop positive relationships with families and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the children and young people that we work with. Our rota is given 1 month in advance and will include a combination of late, early and weekend shifts that will also include working during school holidays.
How you'll make a difference?
- You will be part of a team who provide individual support and effective communication with the young people and their families. You and the team will achieve this together
- By proving person centred care that supports agreed outcomes as directed by their individual care plan and contributing to the development of these plans
- By supporting the children and young people with their personal care
- By supporting the children & young people to access a range of fun, stimulating, educational and beneficial activities both inside the centre and externally
- By helping the children and young people with their communication skills with each other as well as helping them to learn how to interact with others in a safe and positive way.
What you'll need?
- Relevant qualification in Social Care - at least Level 3 or willingness to undertake relevant qualification within one year of being appointed
- Experience in the provision of services for children and young people or adults
- Experience in safeguarding, disabled children and young people / adults
- An awareness of the Children's Home Regulations including the Quality Standards
- An awareness of the legal framework relating to Children and Young people
- An awareness of the application of Health and Safety Legislation
- Skills in identifying risks
- Skills of effective communication
- Demonstrates an ability to work in an open an honest manner
- Driver - is desirable
