The role
Our Place is a newly opened, OFSTED registered, 4 bedded permanent residential unit for children and young people aged between 8 - 18 who have various learning and physical disabilities.
As an Assistant Residential Worker, you'll help our team provide a safe and caring environment, supporting the children with household tasks and all aspects of their care
You will make a difference by:
- Supporting children and young people in their personal care, administration of medication and clinical procedures in line with the services policies and procedures.
- Contributing to the development and evaluation of care plans and risk assessments.
- Ensuring safeguarding practices are in place.
- Planning and executing activities for service users to promote a healthy and positive lifestyle.
- Promoting independence and Equality & Diversity throughout the service.
You will need:
- Previous experience and knowledge working with Service users with Learning Disabilities and Physical Disabilities and challenging behaviour.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or the willingness to work towards it.
- Previous experience in residential would be desirable but not essential.
- A real compassionate and positive attitude is a MUST.
- Resilient and adaptable a MUST.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work well within a team.
- The ability to use own initiative.
