The role
Monksfield provides care and support to children aged 6-17 years with moderate to severe learning and or complex health and physical disabilities, consisting of two units. Acorn provides 5 short break beds and Adlin House is a 4-bedded long-stay Childrens Homes in Hexham run by Action for Children. We are a highly motivated and supportive team, providing care, encouragement and support to the children who live within Adlin House.
As an Assistant Residential Worker, you'll help our team provide a safe, stimulating, fun and caring environment, supporting the children with household tasks and all aspects of their care. You'll also attend training, team meetings and supervision during the day. This role will require occasional waking nights and sleep in's as part of the rota.
Doing vital work that has a direct and lasting effect, you'll be helping some of our most vulnerable children, their families and our society. You will ensure the children in our care are safe, happy and well cared for.
You will make a difference by:

- Helping them in all aspects of their daily lives and supporting their health and happiness.
You will need:
- A Level 3 Diploma (formerly known as NVQ) in Children and Young People or equivalent or the willingness to work towards this.
- Experience of working with disabled young people.
- A positive approach, providing a fun environment for all the children in our care.
- A driving license and access to a vehicle would be desirable due to the location and the opportunity to be trained to drive the home's minibus.
