Hyde is looking to recruit a Category Manager into the procurement team.

The Hyde procurement team plays a critical role in delivering significant Value for Money savings and ensuring compliance for the wider organisation and acts as a commercial 'centre of excellence'.
You will be managing multiple procurement projects end to end, developing and delivering your category strategies and take responsibility for around a GBP 60-80m spend portfolio per annum. You will be expected to influence a broad network of stakeholders across the business, while delivering value for money and ensuring full business compliance against policy and regulatory requirements.
Key accountabilities include:
- Develop and execute strategic procurement category plans and strategies for assigned commodities and services including construction, property services, FM and professional services etc.
- Establish effective relationships with a wide range of senior and other stakeholders
- Set and deliver clear goals for cost savings, value creation and supplier performance in context of business unit / Directorate operating plans
- Use in-depth category expertise in relevant categories/commodities to establish or refine category strategies
- Conduct market analysis to develop supply market approach
- Utilise deep understanding of supplier dynamics and market trends to determine sources of leverage
- Ability to analyse spend data to identify baseline and cost saving opportunities
- Assess compliance with preferred supplier arrangements and ensure 100% compliance to internal policies and external regulations
Key Skills and Minimum Requirements:
- You will have proven track record of applying best practice category management tools and methodologies.
- You will be able to make immediate impact into a fast paced, commercial environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of financial concepts and strong analytical skills
- Preferred but not mandatory - Good knowledge of public sector procurement rules (OJEU)
- You must be able to demonstrate a repertoire of procurement skills, where you can approach a category strategy from different angles, resulting in cost savings/ consolidation, efficiency improvements, risk mitigation etc.
- You will be passionate about the benefits a modern procurement function can deliver and communicate excellently with the business to ensure complete buy in.
- You will be familiar with governance, regulations, policy, risk.
