The role.
There are currently 2 homes across 3 houses within the surrey area that support young people aged between 5-19 years with profound and multiple disabilities, including communication difficulties, sensory impairment, complex health needs and challenging behaviour. The homes are undergoing some exciting and substantial changes. Plans include local relocation and refurbishment to provide environments of a high standard.
As a Children Services Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional leadership for the Residential Services and supporting registered managers to lead staff teams across our homes. You will enable high quality service delivery which meet the needs of children and families, as well as quality assuring services to ensure all aspects of regulatory requirements are met. It is essential that you have a working knowledge of children's home regulations and positive change management.
You will make a difference by:
- Responsibility for managing the requirements of framework contracts.
- Managing and delegating budgets.
- A good knowledge of safer recruitment.
- Staff management - including regular, high quality supervision and support.
- Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Promoting and maintaining the Action for Children's reputation and brand.
You will need:
- Level 5 NVQ in Leadership and Management or equivalent.
- Outstanding leadership qualities derived from excellent personal skills.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of OFSTED requirements and safeguarding practices.
- Car driver essential.
- Previous experience managing residential Children's homes.
- Previous experience managing budgets.
- A positive approachable manner.
- To be ambitious for children, young people and families.
