We are looking for Childrens Services Workers to join our outreach services team. Outreach Services Cambridgeshire provides support to children and young people either in their home or out in the community across Cambridgeshire, for young people between the ages of 0 to 25, with physical and learning disabilities.

The role?

Our support workers will work with families directly and arrange to take children and young people with disabilities out into the community and support them to access a variety of activities and opportunities, enabling them to increase their independents skills. There may be times where families may need some support within their home and you will work with them to understand how you can best support them.

How you'll make a difference?

  • By providing a high quality service to children, young people and their families, based on an assessment of need and is outcomes driven
  • By delivering interventions to children, young people or families on a 1:1 basis or in a group setting, with appropriate direction
  • By maintaining effective working relationships and channels of communications with colleagues and with children, young people and families and where necessary encourage and promote involvement to achieve positive outcomes
  • By being alert to child protection and safeguarding issues and inform appropriate line managers of concerns in line with safeguarding policies and procedures
  • By attending and actively participating in relevant multi-agency meetings
  • By being responsible for organising achievement of work objectives on a daily basis, including both pre and forward planning
  • By retaining accurate and contemporaneous records, using various IT systems to capture case details, outputs and outcomes as necessary

What you'll need?

  • Diploma or NVQ Level 3 or willingness to work towards this
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be caring and compassionate
  • Willing to learn
  • Flexibility in working patterns and for the needs of the service
  • Experience of working with children/young people/adults with disabilities - desirable but not essential
