About the role
We're looking for an experienced Communications Specialist to join the Airbus Commercial Aircraft Communications team in the UK, supporting the business during a maternity cover period.

Based in Filton, this role plays a key part in bringing Airbus' communication strategy to life - locally, nationally and globally. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, site leadership and communications colleagues across the UK and beyond to shape engaging stories, deliver clear messaging and support key business priorities.

If you're a confident communications professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, complex organisation and enjoys partnering with the business, this could be a great fit.

What you'll be doing
As a Communications Specialist, you'll:

  • Act as a trusted communications partner to the Filton site and wider UK business
  • Manage, prioritise and deliver communication requests in line with strategic and business objectives
  • Develop and deliver clear, engaging communication plans and topic briefs
  • Create compelling content including:
    • Internal communications
    • Leadership messages and briefings
    • Articles, presentations and updates
    • Events and employee engagement activities
  • Coordinate and lead communications for larger projects, bringing together cross‑functional teams where needed
  • Work with creative assets such as photo, video and graphics to support messaging
  • Support community and local engagement activity, helping to maintain strong relationships with neighbours and local stakeholders
  • Liaise with internal teams including Public Affairs, HR, site leadership and union representatives
  • Ensure communications activity is governed correctly using Airbus systems and processes

Who we're looking for
You don't need a specific qualification - experience is what matters most. You'll likely bring:

  • Proven experience in internal and external communications, ideally within a large or complex organisation
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels
  • Excellent written communication skills and a flair for storytelling
  • Experience planning and delivering communication campaigns from concept to delivery
  • The ability to think strategically while also delivering at pace
  • Experience supporting events and engagement activities
  • A good understanding of UK internal communications channels and local media landscapes
  • A collaborative, organised and proactive approach

Please note: This is a pure communications role - not marketing.
