What you will be responsible for

  • Lead and manage the delivery of one of the city council's community and voluntary sector grant funds in accordance with legal requirements, council policy and best practice ensuring the grant award process is accountable, transparent and protected from misuse.
  • Plan and execute the grant monitoring process for all funded projects, ensuring that all conditions of grants are met and reported upon to achieve appropriate use of public funds at all times

About you

  • In depth knowledge of the third sector and its role in representing, building and supporting local communities
  • In depth knowledge of the financial and legal framework in which the third sector operates including charity, company, insolvency, employment and health & safety legislation
  • In depth knowledge of grant programmes and funding to the voluntary sector and experience in meeting strategic objectives
  • In depth knowledge of systems for appraisal and risk assessment as they relate to funding of external organisations
