The role
Silverton's Community Hub is an exciting new development building on the success of our residential service in Hamilton.
The aim of the Hub is to support families with a child with a disability to ensure the child feels involved in his community, enjoys the childhood experience and builds her confidence whilst developing the families resilience to deal with the day to day challenges of their care giving duties.
The outcomes are that the child is safe, happier, more active, better involved, has improved personal resilience and has more fun.
The practitioner role involves close liaison with the manager, parents and young people who use the service. You will develop a team of community support workers to offer a range of high quality support to a wide range of young people from the age of 7 to 19. The support is personalized to the specific needs, likes, character and personality of each individual child. This is directed through an extensive and well researched care plan which is strongly led by the child's voice.
The work initially will often involve out of school times, especially between 3pm and 8pm, week-ends and all day during school holiday periods although , once established, much of your role will be achievable during office hours with the occasional week-end work.

You will need:
-Experience of managing a small team to deliver desired outcomes.
-UK driving licence would be desirable as there will be a requirement to travel in the local area.
-Ideally, a H.N.C and SVQ 3 Social care /Childcare.
-Experience of supporting young people with additional needs.
-SSSC Registration.
