Guidant Global is working with the UK's trusted Ministry of Defence partner, MBDA, seeking an experienced Data Link Systems Engineer to apply skills within a growing company and multi-skilled team. Exposure to complex and technologically advanced projects and products provides a stimulating experience. What we're looking for:

  • Experience in system engineering for defence-standard hardware, firmware, and software.
  • An appreciation of RF systems, in particular design challenges associated with RF circuits, information assurance and cyber security when applied to secure communication systems would be advantageous.
  • Proficient Rational DOORS user, able to create and manage requirement modules as well as associated requirement verification modules, within formal change processes.
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and the capability to write clear, concise engineering documentation.
  • Have good interaction skills - verbal communication, listening and time management.

What you'll get to do as a Data Link Systems Engineer:

The Future Combat Air System Acquisition Programme (FCAS-AP) is developing a highly adaptable and networked system, enabled through a combination of core platforms, adjuncts, and complex weapons. The programme is currently in the concepting phase. You will be responsible for systems engineering work with weapons data links on the FCAS platform.

  • Responsible for systems engineering, requirements definition and validation of the MICA NG Datalink, accountable to the Datalink CofEx Systems Lead.
  • Elicit and understand customer needs to develop a complete and coherent system design solution.
  • Develop and refine in collaboration with the Mechanical, Electronic and Software Design Leads, the internally generated requirements for the equipment.
