The Driving School operates a product called DIT (Driving Instructor Training). This product is sold to full licence holders who wish to become a Driving Instructor. The product is comprised of three parts being:

  • Part 1 - Advanced Theory
  • Part 2 - Advanced Driving Capability
  • Part 3 - Instructional Training

There are two versions of the product offering.

The first is an in-car based product. The Trainee pays for a set of in-car training where they are instructed by a qualified trainer on a 1-2-1 basis. We call this AA DIT.

The other is where the trainee purchases a set of in-classroom based training, part of which is delivered in a VR format. The other half being in-car with a trainer and up to two further trainees. We call this BSM DIT.

The Driving School is due to switch IT systems and as a result, active Trainees will have their account and training data migrated to the new platform.

During the development of the data migration scripts, there have been a number of inconsistencies identified in the delivery data i.e. we are not clear on how many hours a trainee has received for the data we hold. Therefore, we need to conduct a reconciliation of each active trainees' balance, to validate and where needed adjust their remaining balance.

Duties:

For each trainee, reconcile the number of hours they have taken for each product purchased. This will include

  1. Review and reconciliation of records across multiple systems to reach a single version of the truth:
    • A review of the product(s) purchased on the current Driving School system (AAdvance)
    • A review of the hours claimed against the trainee via the system (AAdvance)
    • A review of the hours claimed against the trainee via a set of manual spreadsheets (Excel), including any conversion of AA DIT to BSM DIT
    • Where items 2 & 3 do not result in a satisfactory output, a review of the trainees' progress through a manual scan of their notes (AAdvance)
    • When items 2, 3 and 4 do not result in a satisfactory output, a call to the trainer to assess the number of hours taken
  2. Data entry of reconciled records into a spreadsheet
  3. Escalation of any records where problems are encountered

Candidate Characteristics:

  • Competent in Excel
  • Competent navigating SharePoint
  • Analytically minded
  • Process driven
  • Independent worker

Please note that for the first week you will be required to work onsite so you gain a good feel for the role and the people you are working with. Thereafter, you will be able to work remotely, if you so wish.
