Overview:

· You will be supporting people in their day-to-day activities. This can include providing opportunities for people by enabling them to connect within their communities, putting choice, independence, enablement, and citizenship at the heart of everything we do.

· The service provides emotional and physical support to people from different care groups including people with age associated needs, adults with complex physical and/or learning disabilities.

Responsibilities:

· Work as part of a small team to assist in providing personal care and a range of activities relevant to the individual with care needs

· Work with clients to meet their personal care, social, emotional, recreational and learning needs where appropriate in accordance with their care plan or goal plan programme

· To provide emotional support, companionship and a safe environment for those in need of supervision and help

· To assist with mobility including use of equipment

· To assist with organising and delivering a programme of appropriate and achievable, therapeutic and recreational activities to enhance the lives and improve the well-being of clients attending the day centre

· To assist in developing personal activity plans

· To assist in events on the programme giving regard to client health and safety, ability, comfort & enjoyment.

· To provide assistance with eating / drinking as required

· To assist in the administration of medication

· To carry out basic first aid

· To promote equality as an integral part of the role and to treat everyone with fairness and dignity

· To report any concerns about abuse or the welfare or safety of a service use to the services manager

· To undertake other duties as required, under the direction of the line manager

A typical shift will include:

· Following care plans, routines, guidelines, risk assessments, and Behaviour Management Plans

· Personal care, Moving & Handling, Hoisting

· Assisting with meals

· Social interaction

· Cleaning

· Paperwork

Training and annual refresher training will be provided by Guidant Global

The support required accommodates the needs of people including mild to severe learning disabilities, mental health difficulties, sensory impairments, dysphagia, epilepsy, and the beginnings of age-related conditions, particularly dementia.

Your aim will be to assist people to learn or maintain daily living skills to enable independence as far as possible.
