Salary: £16,500 pro rata (dependant on qualifications and experience)

The Community Family Hub (Central) is located in the central area of Newcastle Upon Tyne and services are delivered from four bases within this locality. As an Early Years Worker you will work as part of an integrated team and contribute to the delivery of a range of services, including play and learning opportunities to children and their parents/carers.

You will be required to carry out home visits and be involved in assessing the needs of children and their families. You will also be required to complete or contribute to Early Help & Assessment Plans as well as 'Team Around the Family' meetings.

The roles are both part-time and ideally will be worked across 3 days, generally covering Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, which are to be agreed in order to meet service needs.

What you'll need:

  • Relevant qualification at level 3 or above
  • An understanding of child development and the EYFS
  • Ability to assess, plan and review with children and families
  • Work creatively with families and in an outcome-focused way.
  • An understanding of how to safeguard children
  • Experience of working with children and families
  • Ability to work as part of a integrated team
  • Ability to communicate with families who are from a diverse range of cultures and communities
  • Ability to use electronic recording systems
