The role
Southern Children Centres within Devon are looking for 2 x 37 hours positions supporting families within the Teignbridge area.
Action for Children's Devon Children's centres provide Early Help to the whole family, from pregnancy through to age eight, when families most need support using the "team around the family" approach.
As a Family Support Practitioner working across Teignbridge and South Hams, you will be responsible for taking the lead on level early help support caseload. You will actively coordinate and direct the support to children, young people and families by agreeing targeted interventions and enabling positive outcomes.
You will make a difference by:
- Effectively assessing the needs of families and responding to them.
- Delivering complex intervention on a 1:1 basis or community setting.
- Attending multi agency meetings.
- Ensuring safeguarding practices are in place throughout the service.
- Working collaboratively within a team to achieve positive outcomes.
You will need:
- Level 3 Qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Experience of working with children and families.
- Knowledge and awareness of methods of assessment and intervention.
- Experience of Safeguarding and working with children at Early Help level.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead meetings and work with partner agencies.
- Good level of IT.
- Ability to keep factual records and write clear accurate assessments and reports.
- Driving Licence and access to own car.
