The role
The Caledonian System is an integrated approach to address men's domestic abuse and improve the lives of women, children, and men. We are looking for a Family Support Practitioner to be based at the Criminal Justice office in Perth, where you will be located with the Caledonian Delivery Group which will comprise of the Women's Worker, Children's Worker and Criminal Justice Social Workers. This is an outreach post.
The Family Support Practitioner (Children's Worker) will look to increase the safety of women and their children through safety planning and joint risk assessments. This will involve support children on a one-one basis in activities that help promote their emotional wellbeing.
This is a part-time post with initial funding to the end of March 2022. We are open to discussing how the 18.5hrs can be worked at interview stage. This role may involve some early evening work to meet the requirements of the service users. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a unique approach to domestic abuse and full training in the Caledonian System will be given.
You will make a difference by:
-Giving clear messages and develop understanding about domestic abuse.
-Participating in the men's group work programme by delivering sessions on parenting.
- Being part of a multi agency partnership with other agencies and the wider Caledonian team.
You will need:
-SVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a related field.
-Knowledge of Domestic abuse interventions would be highly beneficial.
-Experience of working directly with children and families, either individually or in a group setting.
-Experience of delivering target-based programmes or initiatives.
-Knowledge of Safeguarding.
- A driving license and a suitable means of transport to enable the duties of the role to be carried out.
